UOM signs cooperation agreement with Kuwait

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Educaiton and the University of Malta have signed a cooperation agreement that provides for the allocation of 65 UOM places per year for Kuwaiti students, whose studies will be funded by the Kuwaiti government's scholarship programme.

Central bank governor supports stipend reform

The Governor of the Central Bank, Michael Bonello, whose job it is to advise the government on financial and economic matters, has said that he supports the Rector in his proposals for reforms in the stipend system. Mr Bonello was speaking on Thursday during a business breakfast.

EIE calls for accreditation of educational institutions

Private educational institutions should be properly accredited in order to safeguard students' interests, the European Institute of Education (EIE), itself an international institute of higher education with a campus in Malta, has said.

KSU election - full results

2,813 students out of an eligible 12,500 voted in the KSU election of Thursday 2 April 2009. Of the 2,813 votes cast, 2,223 were block votes: 1,215 students voted only for SDM, while 1,008 voted only for ACT. The other 665 votes were either mixed among candidates from both teams or unclear/unmarked/invalid.
